Hi everyone! It’s been quite some time since my last post. Plans for the blog have taken a backseat as other projects are taking precedence right now. I had good intentions of posting weekly (and hope to make that a reality at some point soon), but between getting ready for taxes, fundraising for another mission trip to New Mexico this coming summer, crafting for shows and my Etsy shop, writing Vacation Bible School curriculum for a community VBS in the park this summer, getting engaged, planning a wedding for fall, re-decorating a man cave, and working full-time…I haven’t had much spare time to devote to this blog.
I do have plans to share some personal projects that I’ve been working on finishing this year (a New Year’s resolution that I am trying hard to keep). Finished projects take much less room to store than project bags!
I inherited two unfinished afghans that my grandmother started more than 20 years ago. The afghan pictured above is baby-sized and just needed an edging. The other is lap-sized will need a few additional rows added before the edging can be started, but I hope to share it sometime later this year.
This wall hanging has been in the quilting hoop waiting to be completed for more years than I am proud to admit. I finally took a few snowy weekends in January to finish the hand quilting and bind it. I started it so long ago that I can’t even remember the pattern name or designer.
I have a HUGE stack of projects-in-progress that I’ll be working on as time permits this year, so I’ll share more as I complete them. I’m currently working on hand quilting a queen-size bed quilt with Celtic knots and thistles…I may need to finish a few smaller projects to share, as that quilt won’t be completed for several months. Besides, if this summer is as hot as this winter was cold, I won’t be sitting with a quilt on my lap in July and August!
The past few weeks I have been working on treats, coffee cup sleeves, and cards for a craft show this Saturday in Harrisville. It will be from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department, so stop by if you’re in the area…I have lots of cute Easter treats including bunny Hershey bars, bunny treat boxes, chick treat bags, and superhero lollipops. If I have any leftovers from the show, I’ll be adding them to my Etsy shop later this weekend.
It’s been too long between posts this year! I already have plans to remedy that next year. It has been a busy Christmas season so far filled with craft shows, gift-making, and card-crafting. I can’t believe Christmas day is only one week away…I still have so much to do!
To celebrate the season I am giving everyone 10% off everything in my Etsy shop until midnight on Christmas Eve…just use coupon code “SHOP10″ at checkout. The last day to ship items by First Class mail is Friday, December 20th…so you still have a few days to pick up some Christmas goodies!
So, light a candle, sip some cocoa, play some carols, and enjoy this holiday season! Merry Christmas!
The Harvest Festival is tomorrow! We’ll be open for business from 9 AM to 3 PM. We have handmade crafts from a variety of vendors, food (including homemade Amish donuts), a bake sale table, hay rides, live Praise & Worship music from 11 AM to 1 PM, and lots of crafts and activities for kids.
It’s been a lot to put together in only a month’s time, but we’re pretty excited. All proceeds from table reservations, food sales, and baked good sales will go towards helping our Mission Team get back to Roswell, NM next summer to work with the local Hispanic ministry, Boys & Girls Club, food kitchens, and more.
I’ll have a space with fall and Christmas items for sale…jewelry, cards, stocking stuffers, and treats. In addition, we have crafters of nightlights, jewelry, candles, baby quilts, teacher gifts, and we’ll joined by representatives of the Ugandan Water Project with items made by the women of Uganda.
Stop by if you’re in the area! I’ll post some photos next week.
This month’s Blog Hop Challenge was to create a set of 5 tags. I had an idea in mind as soon as I received my latest PTI order using the Tag Sale #8 die and the City Scene sets. The sentiment is from Winter Snow Globe.
While I was cutting the tags with my Big Shot, I was thinking that the interior portion looked a lot like a popsicle…so, I decided to experiment!
The “groove” is stamped with one of the “road” images from City Scene, and the sentiment and snowflake are from Winter Penguin.
Thanks for stopping by!
I’ve been working on a lot of new merchandise for craft shows, my Etsy shop, and the Christmas Tree Farm. I have my first Christmas Show coming up in another week and I’m scrambling to stitch and stamp fast enough to keep up with all of the ideas running through my head!
Here’s an update on upcoming shows for those of you who are in the area:
- Saturday, November 2 – Harrisville VFD Community Christmas Bazaar (at the Fire Department) (9AM – 2 PM)
- Saturday, November 16 - North Liberty Presbyterian Church Harvest Festival (9AM – 3 PM)
(We’re still looking for a few more crafters for this show at North Liberty…if you’re interested, email me and I’ll send you a form!)
- Saturday, November 23 - Winter Vendor/Craft Show, Slippery Rock Township Building (9AM – 1PM)
- Saturday, December 7 – Grove City Women’s Club Christmas Craft Show, Grove City Middle School (9AM – 2PM)
- Thanksgiving – Christmas Eve – Rodgers Pine Hill Christmas Tree Farm in Harlansburg
I hope to see you there!
Now, on to the new stuff…coffee cozies, felt hair clips, owl Hershey bars, and so much more. Some things, like the three coffee cozies below and the owl Hershey bars are available now in my Etsy shop…others will be available at shows and will be listed in my Etsy shop later (as spare time allows). Enjoy!
It’s been quite a while since I last participated in a PTI Blog Hop, but this month’s challenge made it the perfect time to start up again. The theme this month is “Wreaths”, so I chose a fall look for my card. I used the “Wreath for All Seasons” stamp set, and the Mat Stack 3 and Layerz Mat Stack 3 dies. I stamped the berries on the twig wreath in orange and red for more depth to the image, and added a button for dimension. Thanks for stopping by!
I’ve been busy filling up the shop and creating items for upcoming craft shows. One of the new items I’ve been working on is bracelets…charm bracelets in 5 themes- Halloween, Fall, Football, Hunting, and Teaching. Here’s a peek…
There are a few new necklaces too:
And always lots of cards:
I have even more new merchandise planned for the upcoming local craft shows, including several new styles of Post-It Pads, Owl Hershey Bars, Halloween Poppers, Bat Treat Boxes and more!
Here’s my show schedule for next month:
- October 12th at Fall Fest in the Grove City Memorial Park
- October 19th at the Scott Township Volunteer Fire Department in Harlansburg
I have a few plans in the works for November, and I’ll let you in on the details soon!
